The Massachusetts Campaign for Children is a non-partisan, statewide public information, education and mobilization project that aims to elevate children's issues to the top of the public agenda.

Too many children in Massachusetts today lack the basic supports they need to grow up safe, secure, and healthy.

  • 250,000 children are living in poverty
  • 20,000 children are homeless
  • 200,000 are hungry or at risk of going hungry
  • 30,000 are abused or neglected every year
  • 4000 are waiting for permanent families
  • 10,000 are waiting for affordable child care
  • 5000 low birthweight babies are born yearly
  • 40% of fourth-graders have trouble reading

The GOAL of the Campaign is to engage citizens in non-partisan electoral and legislative actions that promote the well-being of all Massachusetts children and their families. The Campaign seeks to improve the lives of children by creating a public environment where children's needs come first.

We help our members take action through:

  • Timely, accurate information on the issues
  • Training on how to speak out for children
  • Community forums and candidate nights
  • Statewide meetings and conferences
  • Effective contacts with your legislators and media.
