Mary Wyszynski, MS, RNC, NNP, is a Nurse Educator for the Massachusetts Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Center at Massachusetts Citizens for Children. She is co-developer of "Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention: A Training for Maternity Nurses, Health Educators and the Parents They Serve" and is certified by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses to conduct this SBS prevention program. She has delivered the training to over 500 nurses in hospitals across the state.
Mary is a committed leader in Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Prevention. Her extensive background in neonatal care and family violence prevention includes a Masters Degree in Science from Northeastern University, with a concentration in family violence, as well as a National Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certificate from All Children's Hospital in Florida. As an experienced Nurse Educator, Mary has conducted numerous trainings on SBS and child abuse prevention for a variety of audiences, including medical professionals, child care agencies, undergraduate and graduate students, and social service agencies. In addition to serving as lecturer, Mary has published SBS and child abuse prevention articles in numerous peer reviewed journals.
Mary also serves as Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital and has over 25 years of experience caring for critically ill newborns.
