The 18th annual Kid Count Data Book, which tracks measures of child well-being in each state, was released on Thursday, June 12th, 2008 by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and Massachusetts Kids Count – a program of Massachusetts Citizens for Children. The 2008 Data Book focuses on Juvenile Justice Reform.
Massachusetts ranks 3rd overall in child well-being among all states in the 2008 Kids Count Data Book. Massachusetts places in the top in seven of ten categories.
Child poverty is the root cause of so many other problems children face, from poor health and nutrition to inadequate housing and neglect and affects all citizens. Look for Massachusetts Kids Count Child Poverty Report to be released in the Fall 2008.
