CARE Task Force, North Quabbin Community Coalition
The North Quabbin Community Coalition’s C.A.R.E. (Comprehensive Assault Reduction Effort) Task Force was formed in October of 2002 in response to a multi-year study of assault within the region. The report supported with hard data that the rural North Quabbin area experienced an inordinate level of violence. Three specific areas within the report were to be the focus of the Task Force: Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Youth Violence. For the past year, the group has been working on all three of these areas. The Pilot project of the Massachusetts Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership was a perfect fit for the goals of the existing group. The North Quabbin Community Coalition has a twenty-year history of hosting community-driven efforts and has been successful in creating many sustainable, local initiatives. The CARE Task Force meetings are held at the Patch office at 423 Main Street, Athol on the first Monday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Coalition is located at 10 School Street, Athol. Gloucester Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership
The Gloucester Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership (GCSAPP) is a collaborative whose mission is to prevent child sexual abuse by engaging adults and the community in effective perpetration prevention efforts in the city of Gloucester. Gloucester Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership evolved from the Coalition for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, which is an active collaborative whose goal is to ensure that Gloucester is a domestic violence free zone. Gloucester has been selected by the Massachusetts Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Partnership (MCSAPP) as one of three communities in Massachusetts to pilot promising prevention models. MCSAPP will oversee implementation of this project that originated from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Massachusetts Citizens for Children (MCC) is the lead agency for the state partnership, and Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) is the evaluator for the outcomes. Newton Partnership to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse

The Newton Partnership to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse began through the collaborative efforts of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, the Newton Community Service Center's Child Assault Prevention Program, and the Burr Cooperative Nursery School. The Newton Partnership is a public/private collaboration, whose members include parents, abuse prevention specialists, social workers, early childhood educators, law enforcement, clergy, the mayor's office, the department of public health, and many other individuals and organizations. The Newton Partnership's mission is to prevent child sexual abuse by engaging adults and communities in effective perpetration prevention efforts in the city of Newton. Newton has a strong history of working to prevent child sexual assault through the Child Assault Prevention Program at the Newton Community Service Center. The Newton Partnership builds on that work, and brings together the expertise and resources of the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center and all of the local members to expand efforts to include innovative perpetration prevention models.
