Mary Wyszynski, MS, RNC, NNP is Nurse Educator for the Massachusetts Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Center at Massachusetts Citizens for Children, Inc. She is co-developer of “Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention: An In-Hospital Training Program for Maternity Nurses, Nurse Educators And the Parents They Serve” and has delivered the training to over 500 nurses in over a dozen hospitals in Massachusetts.
Mary is a committed leader in Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) prevention. Her extensive background in neonatal care and family violence prevention includes a Masters Degree in Science from Northeastern University, with a concentration in critical care neonatal nursing, as well as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certificate from All Children’s Hospital in Florida. An experienced Nurse Educator, Mary has conducted numerous trainings on SBS and family violence prevention for a variety of audiences, including medical professionals, child care agencies, undergraduate and graduate students, and social service agencies. In addition to serving as lecturer, Mary has published SBS and family violence prevention articles in national peer reviewed journals.
Mary is staff nurse at Newton Wellesley Hospital and has over 25 years of experience caring for critically ill newborns.
